7,410 sq ft

A grand gated entry onto a paver motor court bordered by towering redwoods and encircling a tiered fountain is just the beginning of this magnificent 1.22-acre estate worthy of its exclusive East Bay address within the gates of the Blackhawk Country Club.

This masterpiece of architectural detailing, artistry, and craftsmanship was designed by the renowned Young & Burton Inc. architects, and developed by Kenneth Hofmann, noted East Bay developer and former co-owner of the Seattle Seahawks with Blackhawk developer Ken Behring.
The dynamic interior boasts more than 7,400 square feet of primarily single-level living space. Open multiple French doors from just about every room to seamlessly connect to an entertainer’s mecca and a private outdoor sanctuary offering a variety of venues to enjoy breathtaking and unobstructed panoramic views of the Tri-Valley hillsides and the 12th fairway of the Falls championship golf course.

Boasting nearly $6 million in custom curated updates, including 90 solar panels, was a labor of love that transformed this home into an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind estate with attention given to every detail. Open the custom-crafted stained glass double front doors and experience the beauty of a centralized atrium and a great openness drenched in natural light pouring through skylights and walls of windows and French doors.

Soaring exposed wood ceilings, polished granite, hardwood and carpeted flooring, custom cherrywood interior doors, fresh interior wall and baseboard paint, custom Andersen French doors and hardware, art niches with custom lighting, and recessed and gallery lighting are updated throughout the formal living and dining rooms, the executive office, the bar room, an 800+ bottle wine cellar/tasting room, the chef’s eat-in kitchen, and the family room.
Five en suite bedrooms include a luxurious primary suite in a private wing and a two-room suite with a kitchenette on the upper floor with a private entry. Eight bathrooms include two powder rooms and a full pool bathroom with a chiseled-edged granite counter and shower surround. Each bathroom has been updated with stylish finishes and new fixtures.
Interior Details
Step down into the formal living room, which features custom built-in shelving, a linear gas fireplace, and a French door to the backyard. The adjacent bar room is anchored by a wall of built-in cabinetry with custom lighting. This room also features a walk-around bar illuminated by a trio of pendants, a brass sink, a refrigerator, and an ice maker. The formal dining room also has a view of the atrium’s lush foliage and features custom inlays in the granite flooring. Designed to accommodate large gatherings, this room is illuminated by an elegant chandelier.

A custom stained glass pocket door opens to a gourmet kitchen created for the ultimate culinary experience or a late-night snack. Brilliantly combining beauty and function, this newly redesigned kitchen is a work of art with multiple stations. Custom cherrywood cabinetry with whimsical pulls, granite counters, a mosaic tile backsplash, two stainless sinks, and a new tiled floor with a decorative mosaic tile inlay are featured. A walk-in pantry is behind a custom stained glass door. Two islands include a granite-topped horseshoe-shaped island with a breakfast bar for four and an underlit translucent breakfast bar with additional seating.

Stainless Miele appliances include dual ovens, dual microwaves, dual warming drawers, dual dishwashers, a built-in coffee station, a full-size SubZero refrigerator and full-size SubZero freezer, and a Dacor six-burner gas cooktop with a custom hammered copper hood. A station with a built-in deep fryer, a hibachi open-grate grill, and a teppanyaki flat griddle raises the bar in this kitchen. A custom chandelier illuminates the adjacent casual dining area, which also has a garden and hillside view.
The ceiling soars to a great height in the expansive family room. This room's proportions allow for multiple seating arrangements and a game table area. The gas fireplace is a work of art with a custom-designed granite surround that touches the ceiling. Built-in cabinetry includes a mounted flatscreen.
Just off the foyer is the executive office behind double beveled-glass French doors. This room is richly layered with cherrywood paneling and cabinetry, a coffered ceiling, and a fireplace.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The luxurious primary suite behind a double-door entry is a private retreat with a fireplace and French doors to the backyard. A double pocket door opens to the en suite, which has been updated with new flooring accented with granite detailing at the thresholds, new cabinetry, a dual-sink granite-topped vanity, new lighting, a chandelier, automated blinds, a jetted tub, steam shower, and a skylight.

Three en suite bedrooms each have large closets. One bedroom has an ensuite with a European-style walk-in tub and walnut flooring. Two bedrooms have en suites and French door access to the backyard.

The upstairs suite, ideal for an au pair, guest, or in-laws, features a bedroom, bathroom, and living room with a kitchenette, including a full-sized refrigerator, sink, and microwave. This room also has surround sound and built-in cabinetry with a flatscreen. The bathroom has a tub/shower combination, a single-sink vanity, and a storage closet. Access this suite from a private front entry.
Backyard Sanctuary
The ultra-private backyard sanctuary was expanded to run the entire length of the home and take full advantage of the breathtaking 180-degree views that span from the south and eastward to the north. Lush garden beds bursting with seasonal color, a rose garden, shade trees, dramatic palms, and more border slate tile patios, and the cantilevered Ipe deck with a Feeney railing. Begin at one end with a complete outdoor kitchen featuring dual refrigerators, an icemaker, a grill, dual burners, a granite counter, counter seating, and a sink. A nearby caterer's kitchen offers additional prep space with a washer and dryer, a stainless sink, and counters.
An octagonal pergola with a decorative tiled inlay floor offers built-in cushioned seating and the ideal place to view the big game or favorite movies on the two mounted flatscreens.

Make a splash in the pebble-tec pool and spa with all-new lighting. The extended Ipe deck and additional patios, including one under the canopy of a mature shade tree, offer multiple venues to entertain and relax. Extensive landscaping enhancements improved the view, privacy, and integrity of the home. About 50 percent of the plants are drought-resistant plants and succulents, including a hillside of flowering ice plants.
